Town of Wendell employees are the Town's number one asset!

In an effort to acknowledge Town of Wendell employees throughout the year for going above and beyond in their everyday work for the Town's residents, businesses and visitors, the Employee Committee launched an Employee Recognition Program to applaud Town employees for being team players, exhibiting exceptional customer service, going above and beyond and providing WOW moments.

Wow Award 2-2
Congratulations to Joshua Harper for being selected as the Town of Wendell’s WOW! Award recipient for the month of February!

While responding to a call for a request for service Officer Harper arrived to a young driver who had a popped tire at 2:00am on a cold 35-degree night. While calling a tow truck was an option, Officer Harper possessed the knowledge, experience and ability to not only change the tire, but to also share that knowledge with the young driver in the event that this were to happen again, turning a bad situation into a teachable moment. While loading the flat tire in the back, he also explained what needed to be done next to repair the damaged tire. The young driver left with a smile and a positive story to share.

Thank you, Officer Harper, for displaying professionalism, friendliness, positive attitude, and a servant’s heart by turning a bad situation into a positive one. The Town of Wendell proudly presents to you the WOW! Award for being selected as the February 2024 employee of the month!
