The commission shall submit rules and regulations concerning the operation and conduct of the recreational facilities operated by the Parks and Recreation Department to the Board of Commissioners for adoption and approval. It is responsible for planning and coordinating recreational programs and activities for the citizens of the town. The duty of the Parks and Recreation Commission is to provide citizen input in relation to the operation and development of Town-owned park property. The Parks and Recreation Commission also raises tree awareness in Wendell and makes recommendations to the Board of Commissioners on trees located on public property within the town limits.
