Spring into the Arts Walk
The Wendell Appearance Commission will host the 3rd annual Art Walk with an open-air art competition on May 12, 2018 as part of the Town's Spring Into the Arts Walk.

All of these events are free unless you choose to purchase an item. Art Walk Auction and Reception will be held on May 18th.
Artists will set up in Wendell’s historic downtown district and beyond Wendell Boulevard and Second Street. Walkers are invited to watch the artists in action beginning at 9am and ending at 4pm. There will also be a sidewalk chalk demonstration working from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on at the Women's Club Lot, as well as sidewalk chalk for kids to create their own art!

*Artist will not be painting during the event, but will have art at the auction.
Everyone is encouraged to check out all of the artists as they bring their creations to life. A map showing the artist's locations is available for download here once available.
If you own a house within the boundary, please nominate it as a location to be painted.

Silent Auction - Friday, May 18th:
Paintings will be judged between Saturday, the 12th and the auction on Friday, the 18th. An artists’ reception and public viewing will begin at 6:30pm at Wine 101, 17 N. Main Street (beer and wine is available for purchase and light snacks will be available). After winners are announced, the artwork will be offered for sale in a silent auction ending at 8:00 p.m. Money raised by each painting will be split 50/50 between the Appearance Committee and artists. Prize money . If you are interested in purchasing one of the paintings, all money must be collected the night of the auction. Cash, credit card, or check (made payable to Town of Wendell with the memo stating "Appearance Commission") will be accepted.
This year, the Appearance Commission will be hosting six local chalk artists at the Women's Club parking lot from 10am-3pm. The following artists will be using chalk to bring unique creations to Wendell:
The paintings will be scanned for possible reproduction by the Town of Wendell and will be added to the current collection of public art.
If your child is interested in entering the Kid's Art Walk contest, see the guidelines here. Kids’ Art Walk Event featuring art from the local elementary school children. All proceeds from the “Penny War” judging will be returned to the participating elementary school art classes. This will be located at 6 N. Main Street from 10am-3pm
From 11am-2pm, the Scrap Exchange, will be at the Women's Club parking lot. They will have crafts that kid's can make and take home. This has been sponsored by Champion Window and All American Gutter Protection, so this event is free to the public thanks to their generosity.
Quick Sketch Caricatures will be set up on the sidewalk in front of 8 N. Main Street providing caricature drawings for $10 per face. There will also be a facepainter and a balloon animal artist around downtown.
The Garrett Newton Band will be performing a free concert at the Town Square from 12pm-1:30pm.
Universal Chevrolet will be hosting the Corvette & Classic Car Show from 9am-3pm.
