The Wendell Police Department is comprised of 18 full-time sworn Police Officers along with one part-time sworn Police Officer and two civilian positions.
The department is broken down into several sections: Administrative, Administrative Support, and Patrol.
The Administrative Section of the department consists of the Chief and Lieutenant.
Administrative Support consists of one Sergeant, two Investigators and two civilian support staff. One Investigator is assigned to Criminal Investigations and the other one is primarily assigned to Gang Investigations. Investigators charge those individuals who commit serious crimes such as felonies and some misdemeanor crimes. The two civilian support staff dispatches calls during the day and maintains all records.
Patrol is broken down into two squads, each squad consisting of a Sergeant, four Officers and a Traffic Officer. They serve as Community Police Officers, investigate motor vehicle accidents, and enforce State laws and Town Ordinances.
