State Employees Credit Union

The State Employees Credit Union (SECU) has received construction drawing approval and has had their building permit approved. Work on the site is scheduled to begin in September. SECU will be located at the northeast corner of the Wendell Boulevard and Rolesville Road intersection at the site of the former Community Animal Hospital.

The credit union building will be 6,400 square feet and include three drive-thru teller lanes and one drive-thru ATM lane. Access will be provided by a right in/right out on Wendell Boulevard and a full access entrance/exit on Rolesville Road.

Wendell Falls

The Wendell Board of Commissioners passed the amended development agreement for Wendell Falls at its June 27, 2011 meeting. This agreement paves the way for Wells Fargo, who currently owns the property, and its subsidiary REDUS, LLC, to sell the development. As part of this agreement scheduled improvements to Richardson Road must be completed by the end of 2011.

Wells Fargo will purchase $1 million worth of water and sewer capacity -103,000 gallons for 412 residential units. Wells Fargo will purchase water and sewer capacity each year for a set number of residential units.  An additional 16 acres of open space will be provided above what was called for in the original agreement.

A schedule for construction of residential units and square footage of commercial was also included in the amended agreement and is shown below.
