Local, Wake County and State Partners
Wendell is located in Wake County, North Carolina, home to the state capital of Raleigh and part of the Research Triangle Region of North Carolina. The county is home to twelve communities, all of whom actively partner with county and state economic development agencies to fuel one of the most dynamic regional economies in the United States.
The Wendell Chamber of Commerce was organized in 1947, and continues to serve the agency through which community plans become community action.
The Wendell Chamber of Commerce is the business community at work as the central agency for the development of the town ... doing jobs that no firm or individual can do alone. The Chamber is also affiliated with the National Chamber of Commerce and often co-operates with other municipal Chambers in the county and region to benefit from collective knowledge in solving many mutual problems.
The Town of Wendell and other Wake County communities reap tremendous benefit from their ongoing relationship with Wake County Economic Development, WECD is the lead economic development agency for Wake County, and assists businesses with their relocation and expansion plans, and markets Wake County as one of the best places for business in the United States. WECD manages the Shovel Ready Sites program in Wake County, and is an invaluable resource for businesses seeking available land and infrastructure for relocation or expansion.
Wendell and Wake County are also served by the North Carolina Department of Commerce, the state economic development agency, which provides a wide diversity of resources, grants, and incentives to relocating businesses and existing business throughout the state. The Department of Commerce also provides active assistance to communities such as Wendell through planning and grant programs designed to attract and support local industry and commercial businesses.
