The public will take notice that the Wendell Board of Commissioners has scheduled a public hearing on Monday, July 8, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the Wendell Town Hall, 15 E Fourth Street, to consider Zoning Map Amendment request to rezone two parcels totaling 2.73 acres [1.31 acres for PIN #1784551118 and 1.42 acres for PIN #1784551064] located at 1027 and 1011 Marshburn Rd from Rural Agricultural (RA) to Highway Commercial (CH).

Interested parties and citizens shall have opportunity to speak and may obtain additional information on request from the Town of Wendell Zoning Administrator, 15 E. Fourth Street, Wendell, North Carolina 27591.

PUBLIC NOTICE

The public will take notice that the Wendell Board of Commissioners has scheduled two public hearings on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the Wendell Town Hall, 15 E Fourth Street, for the following purposes:

  • Public hearing to consider a request by Arnold Huerta to rezone 18.94 acres of property located along Wendell Falls Parkway and identified by PIN #1783385088 [0.55 ac], PIN #1783387100 [0.69 ac], PIN #1783389601 [.12 ac], and PIN #1783388411 [17.58 ac] to an NC Conditional District to be developed as a Townhome residential neighborhood. The described properties are currently zoned Neighborhood Center (NC).  Approved.
  • Public hearing  to consider a request by Charthouse Holdings, LLC, to amend the existing conditional district CD16-02 regulating the property with an updated master plan proposing a multi-level climate controlled self-storage facility and new conditions on the 1.73 acre parcel located at 709 Charthouse Dr and identified by PIN #1784263321.  Approved.

PUBLIC NOTICE

The public will take notice that the Wendell Board of Commissioners has scheduled three public hearings on Monday, June 10, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the Wendell Town Hall, 15 E Fourth Street, for the following:

  • Public hearing to consider a Zoning Text Amendment to Sections 2.3, 3.3 and 19.3 of the UDO as it relates to Indoor Amusements, Game Rooms and Pool Halls. Public hearing held; continued to the June 24, 2019 meeting for Board action.  Approved on 6/24/2019.  
  • Public hearing to consider a Zoning Text Amendment to Sections 2.3, 3.3 and 19.3 of the UDO as it relates to short term rentals, specifically Bed and Breakfast Inns, Homestays and Whole-house Lodging.  Public hearing held; continued to the July 8, 2019 meeting for Board action.  
  • Public hearing to consider a Zoning Text Amendment to Section 10.4 of the UDO as it relates to parking requirements. Public hearing held; second reading at the June 24, 2019 Board meeting.  Approved on 6/24/2019.  

Interested citizens shall have opportunity to speak and may obtain additional information on request from the Town of Wendell Zoning Administrator, 15 E Fourth Street, Wendell, North Carolina 27591.

PUBLIC HEARINGS are legislative. Persons speaking will have five-minutes.

 

QUASI-JUDICIAL [EVIDENTIARY] HEARINGS - Quasi-judicial hearings are different than regular public hearings in that they resemble a court hearing where testimony is presented. The Town Board refrains from “ex parte communication” about these cases, as they must make a decision based solely on the written and oral evidence actually presented at the hearing itself. This means that the Town Board refrains from receiving any information about these cases outside the hearing, including emails, phone calls, letters, etc. The Town Board also refrains from conducting meetings about these issues outside the hearing. 
These same prohibitions do not apply to staff. Staff welcomes inquiries from the public about any of these cases.
