PUBLIC NOTICES

The public will take notice that the Wendell Board of Commissioners has scheduled five public hearings on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Wendell Town Hall, 15 E Fourth Street, for the following purposes:

  • To consider a zoning map amendment request by Gregory Hopkins to rezone 12.07 acres of land located at 0 industrial drive (PIN # 1784019955) from Manufacturing & Industrial (M&I) to Residential Agricultural (RA). The Wendell Board of Commissioners reserves the right to change the existing zoning classification of the area in question or any part or parts thereof to a more restrictive general zoning classification without the necessity of withdrawal or modification of the petition. 
  • To consider a request by Savvy Homes to rezone 20.89 acres of property within the parcel identified by PIN # 1784 49 5755 and addressed as 1505 Marshburn Road from R-40 to a R2 Conditional District to be developed as 23 single family dwellings. 
  • To consider a satellite annexation petition for 20.89 acres of property (excluding ROW) located at 1505 Marshburn Road and identified by PIN # 1784495755.
  • To consider text amendments to Chapters 2, 3, 10, and 19 of the UDO as they relate to outdoor and indoor event venues.
  • To consider an amendment to the Town’s Arterial and Collector Street Plan as it relates to Rolesville Road.

Interested parties and citizens shall have opportunity to speak and may obtain additional information on the request from the Town of Wendell Zoning Administrator, 15 E. Fourth Street, Wendell, North Carolina 27591.

Public Notice

Pursuant to NC GS 160A-31, the public will take notice that the Wendell Town Board of Commissioners has scheduled a public hearing on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Wendell Town Hall, 15 East Fourth Street. The purpose of the public hearing is to consider an annexation for the Town of Wendell for the following described territory:

Two contiguous parcels located within Olde Wendell. Parcel One – 0 Trumpet Vine Court, 9.47 acres, parcel identification number 1794223959. Parcel Two – 0 Kirkhill Drive, 6.72 acres, parcel identification number 1794324805. Full description of the two parcels is available in Deed Book 8576, page number 1576 as recorded at the Wake County Register of Deeds Office.

Citizens may speak and may obtain additional information from the Town of Wendell Zoning Administrator, 15 E. Fourth Street, Wendell, North Carolina 27591.

ORDERS ISSUED UNDER THE WENDELL MINIMUM HOUSING CODE FOR 315 COOK ST & 370/390 E. FOURTH ST

The Town of Wendell Minimum Housing Inspector conducted hearings on July 14, 2016 and October 12, 2016 to determine the status of 315 Cook St. and 370 E. Fourth St. (Master address listed as 390 E. Fourth St) under the requirements of Chapter 34 of the Code of Ordinances.  The result of both hearings was to classify the structures as dilapidated; meaning the estimated cost of repair exceeds forty percent of the value of the structure.

Therefore, in accordance with section 34-88 of the Wendell Minimum Housing Code, notice is hereby given to Lisa L Messick (owner of property identified as 315 Cook St., Wendell, NC) and Judy D. Price (owner of property identified as 390 E. Fourth St., Wendell, NC) that the buildings are ordered to be demolished and removed by February 8, 2017.   Appeal of this order must be filed by November 14, 2016 by contacting the Wendell Planning Department located at 15 E. Fourth Street.
