- What is the Wendell Community Center?
The Wendell Community Center houses the Wendell Parks and Recreation Department. The community center offers a wide variety of programs for citizens of all ages. The community center is also available for rentals such as meetings, birthday parties and wedding receptions!
- What is the best way to get information on the programs available for my family?
We market our programs through a variety of ways in order to reach all of our citizens! We send out emails to our newsletter list, prior participants and to current program registrants. If you would like to be on our email list we would love to add your email! We offer a facility and program guide on our documents page of this website. It has detailed information on all of our facilities and programs. We advertise through the Eastern Wake News and the Total Connection newspaper. If these marketing strategies are not reaching you, please let us know today how we can improve on our marketing strategy to help keep you informed of all our programs.
- What are the hours of operation for the Wendell Community Center?
Monday-Thursday: 6:00am until 9:00pm
Friday: 6:00am- 4:00pm
- Why are there registration rates for residents and non residents?
The Wendell Parks and Recreation Department rates are determined by whether the registrant lives within the corporate limits of the Town of Wendell or outside of the corporate limits. Resident rates are less than non residents because they live within the corporate limits of the Town of Wendell and pay city taxes to the Town of Wendell. - How do I register for programs with the Wendell Parks and Recreation Department?
Program registration forms are available online and at the Wendell Community Center. Walk-in registration is taken Monday-Thursday from 6:00am-9:00pm and on Friday from 6:00am-4:00pm at the Wendell Community Center and forms may be mailed to us at: PO Box 828, Wendell NC 27591.
- What methods of payment are accepted?
The Wendell Parks and Recreation Department can only accept cash, checks and money orders at this time.
- What is the Wendell Parks and Recreation Inclement Weather Policy?
Our inclement weather policy is that once it is determined by staff that there are safety issues that would require cancelling a program we will do the following to inform participants: 1) Update the game line (365-GAME) and 2) Call or email all the coaches so that they may contact each member of their team. If a game is cancelled, we will make every effort to reschedule and make up the game if at all possible.
