Wendell Wonderland featuring Lake Myra Christmas Lights
The Town of Wendell is excited to host the third annual holiday event this season entitled “2016 Wendell Wonderland.” One of the largest holiday light shows in the State of North Carolina moved from its former location on Lake Myra Road to Downtown Wendell in 2012. Wendell Wonderland is open to the public and will be located in our historic downtown at the corner Cypress Street and Third Street (10 S. Cypress) in the Town of Wendell.
Wendell Wonderland will come alive beginning (soft opening) on Wednesday, November 23 at 6 p.m with the Lake Myra Christmas light show. The light show runs nightly through December 31, weather permitting. Light show hours are from 6-10 p.m. Sundays through Thursday and show hours are 6-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
As part of the Wendell Wonderland event, kids and adults alike are invited to come spend an Evening with Santa at the Town Square on December 2nd. Music begins at 5:00 p.m., Trolley rides begin at 5:30 p.m. and Santa arrives at 6 p.m. at the gazebo located at the corner of Cypress and Third Street. Stop by for a magical night with old Saint Nick, surrounded by one of the state's largest light shows.
Thousands of people have visited the Lake Myra light display show each year since its inception and the Town of Wendell received an increased number of visitors at the new location. Improved access and ample parking make it easier for people in the region to visit this unique and spectacular holiday light show and events in downtown Wendell! The location is 10 S.
